Hello!
I’m afraid my great intentions of getting this
newsletter out every month by the 5th of every month have been derailed by all the planning for the upcoming video shoot and a last minute trip to visit my family in NYC. I was unable to resist the invitation to join my niece Lucy, nephew Anton and his classmates at Cowgirl Cafe in the West Village to catch a performance by Magic Al and drink Margaritas at 2 in the afternoon (the kids drank Shirley Temples.) Honestly, I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in years and what can lift your spirits faster than the the piercing peals of laugher of 25 seven year olds totally racing on grenadine syrup and birthday cake???

It got me out of the stresses of the music business and forced me to wear the crystal clear glasses of perspective and balance in observing the lovely life my brother and sister-in-law have created for themselves and their kids. I’m catching up from the Atlanta airport reviewing the month and remembering how hard it was to say goodbye to them all this morning!
Thanks to Janet McGlauglin for inviting Casey and me to join her and Jim Parker at the Bluebird Cafe for a fun show on the 16th. I made a bunch of new friends and fans…my new Super fan from Canada dubbed me the perfect combination of Joni and Linda and then bought a bunch of CDs. it just doesn’t get better than that.
Then Casey and Todd and I took were off to Baton Rouge for 2 shows. Friday the 22nd we had a friendly and fun crowd at Johnny Palazotto’s new house concert venue on Main St. Louisianans are so incredibly friendly; even when the audience is full of new people, I feel like it’s a family reunion. Thanks Johnny! Our second show was an outdoor show at the Pontchartrain Vineyards in Covington. For days it was in severe danger of getting rained out which would have put a major damper on our tour budget. At the last moment, though, the sun came out and in TRUE Louisiana form, hundreds of folks showed up with their coolers and blankets and sat bravely on the wet ground looking for a great show and a PARTY!!!!! So we gave them a great show and, really, they took care of the party part — I don’t think Louisianans need an excuse OR any help gettin’ a party on. It was a BLAST!
The next day we dragged ourselves out of bed to hit the road home to Nashville but not before hanging with the Didiers for a real Louisiana Crab Boil, complete with crab eating tutorials and folk lore. People rock! That’s absolutely the best part of going on tour.

June is all about getting the video shot for the new-improved Flyer Song Video and pulling in loose ends for the DVD, T-shirt and my new EP…so much to do; so little time.
That’s it for now! Keep checking in to my website http://www.leslieellis.com/ for all the latest and greatest announcements and thanks for hanging in there with me on this crazy journey.

T SHIRT DESIGN REVEAL
After a quick and informal poll, dozens of folks helped me refine my design for the T-shirt for Flyer Song. Check out the design and tell me what you think…(the background represents a faded blue/denim-y colored shirt). The shirts will hopefully be available with the DVD in July. I’ll send an announcement but check in with the website: http://www.leslieellis.com/
PITCHTUBES
My buddies Larry Sheridan and Robin Ruddy, owners of the fabulous Parlor Productions Studio on Music Row have a new service their offering songwriters. It’s called Pitchtubes. It’s a video song pitch done in the studio so the sound is incredible. I got to participate in the launch and I even helped design the logo!! http://leslieellis.com/Videos.html
FLYER SONG VIDEO UPDATE
On June 13th I’m shooting additional footage to add to the existing video which should be really cool – aside from the Pitchtubes…this will be my very first music video!
